Summary
This position is a key member of L’Oréal’s Corporate Total Rewards Team in the Compensation function. The position provides analytical support for a wide range of compensation programs and policies, assisting in the design, implementation and administration to support business strategies. This may include base salary, short and long-term incentives, reward and recognition programs, benchmarking and survey analysis, position evaluation and pricing and support for manager training.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Provide support to the compensation team on a day-to-day basis.
• compensation proposals for new hires, promotions, etc, for the HR community.
• Conduct compensation surveys; survey data management.
• Modeling, statistical analysis and costing of base and incentive programs.
• Preparation of support data for annual salary budget review.
• Coordinate position evaluations for new and existing jobs by investigating and analyzing position responsibilities to determine appropriate grading and salary level.
• Maintain job data in the Reward database necessary to support effective job pricing and the position evaluation process.
• Consult with the HR systems team on problems with programming and data integrity; make recommendations for system enhancements.
2. Prepare standard reports which assess compensation competitiveness and effectiveness of plans.
3. Provide support to the Corporate Total Rewards Team and HR teams regarding interpretation of compensation guidelines and practices.
4. Perform custom research studies on assigned compensation topics analyzing and interpreting data and preparing summary reports.
5. Maintain the Compensation pages of the HR Portal website for on-line access to appropriate data for HR teams; contribute to management of the L’Oreal + Me website pages.
6. Coordinate logistics for compensation training programs
7. Participate on department project teams; lead on projects as assigned; serve as business partner/resource for HR teams.
Education / Experience / Skills
1. Baccalaureate degree or equivalent in business related discipline.
2. 3-6 years experience working as a compensation analyst preferably in consumer products.
3. Market pricing / job evaluation software exposure. (Watson Wyatt Reward™ preferred).
4. Exposure to sales compensation (broad based and retail) is a plus.
5. Familiarity with HRIS and report writing applications (PeopleSoft; Business Objects).
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, primarily Excel & PowerPoint).
7. Excellent quantitative, analytical, research and writing skills needed for report preparation.
8. Extraordinary attention to detail and data accuracy required, with ability to manage multiple tasks
9. Strong / diplomatic interpersonal skills.
