Within Global Compensation and Benefits, we support MetLife’s strategy by helping to revolutionize the way we attract, develop and retain talent through competitive pay practices in all the markets we compete for talent. This will have a global view and responsibility to support all processes and technology related to compensation data to help inform our global position within markets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The Senior Compensation Analyst conducts global research and analysis around all competitive intelligence, processes and technology solutions related to compensation data, including analytics, benchmarking, global grading, job architecture, incentive accrual tracking and reconciliation, year-end process modeling, testing and budgeting to assess and support the competitiveness and effectiveness of MetLife’s global compensation programs. Monitor internal, external and peer group compensation data and trends.
  • Independently perform all elements of compensation benchmark survey cycle, including globally consistent identification of survey job matches; extract and submit internal data; respond to vendor requests for data clarification; and upload electronic survey results to Willis Towers Watson REWARD system
  • Serve as super-user of all MetLife compensation data, tools and technology, including the compensation benchmarking and analysis tool and global grading system (REWARD), and the annual compensation planning tool; may assist in training the global compensation community
  • Support good governance around our global compensation programs, through consistent application and management of the global job architecture and maintain accurate compensation structures within our HR systems
  • Support accurate compensation budgeting and reconciliation of incentive accruals
  • Support the development of analytical models that assess the effectiveness and quality of existing and proposed compensation programs
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related discipline (e.g., business, finance)
  • Two or more years of relevant experience in a corporate or consulting environment (e.g., managing compensation surveys, compensation analytics, evaluating jobs, compensation consulting), preferably with global exposure
  • Attainment of, or progress towards, Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation through WorldatWork preferred
  • Advanced skills in Excel (including experience with complex formulas and regression analysis), Power Point, Microsoft Applications; database skills preferred; report writing and project management skills a plus
  • Understanding of HR information systems, and ability to quickly grasp proprietary HR processes and systems, familiarity with Oracle-cloud and/or Willis Towers Watson’s REWARD a plus
  • Keen analytic ability with exposure to financial and accounting impacts of rewards programs
  • Extreme detail-orientation and commitment to accuracy and quality balanced with timeliness
  • Analytical yet practical, critical thinker; ability to convey complex topics succinctly
  • Ability to work collaboratively with representatives of other departments or functions globally
  • Action-oriented and results-driven; ability to multi-task, collaborate and deliver
  • Clear, concise and effective oral and written communication skills
  • Reputation for integrity and ethics with an orientation for compliance and confidentiality
